UPDATE – Oyama Road has been re-opened to through traffic.  But it will be closed for much of Tuesday, except for school buses, to finish the rock scaling work.

LAKE COUNTRY – Residents who live along the south end of Oyama Road in Lake Country are facing a lenghty detour  to and from home.  The road along that section has been closed  because of an unstable rock face.

The District of Lake Country closed the road around 5 p.m. Thursday.  Municipal crews are now working to stabilize the rock face.  The closure means area residents have to detour all the way around the north end of Wood Lake.
