Adding to the concerns, when the water line broke, the gushing water also ruptured an adjacent sewer line creating the potential for cross-contamination.

“We understand the advisory has been inconvenient for those affected, but water quality and customer excellence is very important, ” says Penticton mayor Andrew Jakubeit. “We appreciate the community understanding and support.”

In response to the City of Penticton rescinding its Boil Water Notice and Water Quality Advisory, the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) in consultation with the Interior Health Authority has rescinded the Water Quality Advisory that has been in effect since Sunday for the West Bench water system.
