EDMONTON – Pushing for North American energy independence, Premier Jim Prentice delivered a speech to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC this week. In it, he pushed for the approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, saying both nations stand to benefit from the project.
The pipeline was dealt a setback this week after the Environmental Protection Agency found, because of slumping oil prices, it would indirectly lead to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions.
Along with the Washington trip, Provincial Affairs reporter Tom Vernon and Bob Murray from the Frontier Centre for Public Policy talk about the choice of Dr. David Swann as interim Liberal leader and the sudden departure of federal Foreign Affairs minister John Baird.
