Shubenacadie Sam predicts 6 more weeks of winter

HALIFAX – Shubenacadie Sam saw his shadow Monday morning and predicted six more weeks of winter.

The Nova Scotia groundhog came out of his den at 8 a.m. to freezing temperatures, but a sunny sky.

Shubenacadie Wildlife Park is hosting Groundhog Day festivities for young and old throughout the morning.

In Pennsylvania groundhog Punxsutawney Phil also saw his shadow.
