At least one more day of work on Decarie water main

Southbound on Decarie Boulevard.

MONTREAL – It will be at least another day of traffic chaos for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (NDG) residents.

Borough mayor Russell Copeman sent out a message on Twitter to let residents know that work on the Decarie water main will be extended until Monday night, perhaps even early Tuesday morning.

The area has been plagued by traffic and construction for over a week as crews join a water main, which serves 100,000 people in the area.

Lane closures will continue at the corner of Cote-Saint-Luc and Decarie.

Construction in the area initially began last November, but was postponed after city workers were blocked by a 20-cubic cement block.

Police officers will be on site to help direct traffic.
