WATCH: Marvel releases new, darker ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ trailer

Face front, true believers! Looks like Marvel’s box office-busting superhero team could be in for some tough times.

At least that’s the impression in the latest trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron released late Monday by Marvel Studios.

“I’m going to tear you apart…from the inside,” intones James Spader’s villainous android Ultron, with the trailer suggesting the team could be headed towards a Beatles-style breakup.

There’s also plenty of teases and for fanboys and girls: the debut of Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver, a knock-down, drag out fight between Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, and of course Ultron himself.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is the sequel to 2012’s The Avengers, which broke several box office records and remains one of the highest grossing films of all time.

Starring a large ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Samuel L. Jackson, the film builds on the string of success enjoyed by Marvel Studios in recent years, with Iron Man 3 becoming the top-grossing movie of 2013, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy holding similar spots in 2014.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release May 1.
