The Occupy Saskatoon movement is set to hold a march on Saturday to protest homelessness in Saskatoon while the city and agencies meet to offer solutions to the homeless.
City officials say they have had positive discussions with social agencies who deal with homeless people in Saskatoon and have taken a number of steps to work with the people currently sleeping in Gabriel Dumont Park to try and find them a place to live.
The city is also closely monitoring those people currently encamped at the park.

The Salvation Army has taken a lead role in the discussions and has offered the group immediate shelter and a promise to find long-term housing.
While the proposal was well received, the group wanted to see the proposal in writing. The Salvation Army complied with that request on Thursday.
The homeless were expected to discuss the housing solution proposal with their supporters Thursday evening.
The city and all involved agencies expect a resolution will occur due to concerns for the personal health, safety and welfare of the group.
Meanwhile, the Occupy Saskatoon movement is planning a march to protest homelessness in the city.
In a statement, they say Saskatoon is facing a serious housing crisis and the province’s economic boom has left many out in the cold.
Occupy Saskatoon also says affordable housing is a human right.
The group is meeting at Friendship Park at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and plan to march through the downtown core.
