SASKATOON – A situation involving a barricaded man in Saskatoon’s North Park neighbourhood was resolved peacefully Friday evening. Police spent approximately seven hours attempting to arrest a man wanted for a number of offences, including possession of a stolen vehicle.

The suspect was first spotted around 3 p.m. driving the stolen vehicle near the intersection of 22nd Street and Avenue H. Police attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver sped off.

A pursuit ensued but police say they called it off due to poor driving conditions and a risk to public safety. The vehicle then collided with another vehicle and was abandoned in the area of Warman Road and Balmoral Street.
