Vehicle crashes into GO Train in Scarborough

TORONTO – A driver is in hospital after a vehicle crashed into a commuter train in northeast Toronto.

GO Transit says riders on the Stouffville route are facing delays after the collision on Progress Avenue on Friday morning.

The driver of the vehicle – whose name was not released – suffered non-life-threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital.

There were no injuries to crew members.

Metrolinx spokeswoman Anne Marie Aikins says there was a significant impact in the crash and about 200 passengers were affected.

She says buses were sent in to help people continue on their way.
