Four arrested following assault and shooting in home near St. Stephen, N.B.

HONEYDALE, N.B. – Four people were arrested after RCMP were called to a home near St. Stephen, N.B. last Friday and found one man had been shot.

Just before midnight Dec. 19, St. Stephen RCMP responded to a home where someone had assaulted the homeowner.

During the incident, RCMP say one person was shot in the leg.

Both people were take to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released. Honeydale is about 21 km from St. Stephen.

Nineteen-year-old Anthony Defazio has been charged with robbery and breaching a probation order while 68-year-old Michael Woodard has been charged with discharging a firearm with intent and discharging a firearm in a reckless manner.

A 17-year-old boy was also charged with robbery and assault with a weapon and a 19-year-old woman was arrested for robbery on Dec. 22 in relation to the incident.

RCMP say the investigation is continuing.
