Diners at The Pelican Bend restaurant in Isles of Capri, Florida were shocked Wednesday night when someone spotted a massive python outside.
A 15-foot Burmese python had slithered its way to a popular dock in front of the restaurant, where families and pets regularly walk.

Word spread so quickly that firefighters next door came to help wrangle the lethal reptile.
“We thought it was fake,” said firefighter Christopher Mercer to WINK News. “I haven’t seen a snake that big before. It was 15 foot and about a foot-and-a-half wide.”
Four men, including a fish and wildlife officer were able to capture the snake, estimated to weigh 200 pounds.
No one was hurt during the incident and the snake is now in the hands of a specialist who plans on studying the python.
