A grocery store in Strawberry Point, Iowa had surprise visitors over the weekend.
A pair of deer dashed in through the front doors of Strawberry Foods Saturday and ran around, causing hundreds of dollars in damages.
Cashier Linda Putz said she saw the whole thing.
“I just looked up and there were two deer, two doe, come running through the door,” she told KWWL. “Pushed it open themselves.”
Security footage shows the rogue deer careening through the store, slipping on the tile floors and crashing into the displays.
One deer even finds itself in the shop’s beer cave and knocks over several bottles of booze.
“At least they got the cheap stuff,” said Putz.
Surprised shoppers eventually corralled the deer and shooed them out of the store.
“They were just shaken up,” Putz said. “They did their shopping and ran back out the door. They were in a hurry!”
The deer are still on the loose.
