Dash cam catches TTC bus going through red light in Scarborough

TORONTO – A driver with a dashboard camera has once again caught a TTC bus running a red light.

The driver with the camera was going eastbound on Eglinton Avenue at Warden Avenue when they slammed on their brakes to avoid going through an intersection where the light had just changed from yellow to red.

The driver stopped but the TTC bus, which had already been stopped at the light, went through anyway.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

The TTC is reportedly investigating the incident and is in the process of identifying the driver of the bus.

“Clearly it is not indicative of what our expectations are of our driver. They are trained to be professionals,” TTC spokesperson Brad Ross said in an interview. “This is the kind of thing that we do take very, very seriously.”

The video marks the fourth time in a matter of months a driver with a dashboard camera has caught a bus running a red light.

In July, a TTC bus on Eglinton Avenue at Ionview Road was filmed going through a red light and swerving to avoid a pedestrian. The driver was later fired.
