TORONTO — The city’s largest party store is closed this morning after yet another suspicious package was found.

The seventh suspicious package was found late in the afternoon on Tuesday.

The fifth and sixth suspicious packages were found early Tuesday morning at the Amazing Party and Costume Store, located on Oxford Street, near the Gardiner Expressway and Islington Avenue in Etobicoke.

Police say the fourth package was found by employees at 7:20 p.m Monday, just hours after re-opening after being shut down over the weekend when three other suspicious packages were found.

Dear Customers,

Many of you have seen or heard the stories in the media regarding the “suspicious packages” that were found in the store and it is, regrettably, true. We were forced to close the store while the investigation was begun and the specialist agencies have been working to ensure that we are safe to open again.

We have just learned that we have the all-clear and will be opening the store from 9am tomorrow (October 31st).

There are no words to express the gratitude we feel towards our loyal customers, suppliers and neighbours for their support and understanding during this act of terrorism.
