WATCH: Santa helps make 3-year-old’s wish to see her soldier dad come true

When children climb into Santa’s lap and tell him what they want for Christmas, they often have to wait until Christmas morning for their wishes to come true.

That wasn’t the case for three-year-old Madyson Pohlman this Sunday in St. Charles, Missouri.

Madyson’s dad is Army Staff Sergeant Josh Pohlman, who has been serving in Afghanistan for the last nine months. She told Santa that her wish was to see her daddy.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

As soon as she told the man in red her Christmas wish, her dad appeared right on cue.

“Daddy!” she exclaimed as she gave him a big hug.

Pohlman told KSDK that he was overwhelmed to hear Madyson ask for him to come home for Christmas.

“It hits me straight in the heart. It’s exciting to know that she’s really excited for me to come home,” he said.
