EDMONTON — Police have concluded a death in west Edmonton over the weekend was a homicide.
Police responded to a call regarding an intoxicated man at a home in the area of 188 Street and 122 Avenue just after 11 p.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived, they found Phillip Mooney, 58, inside. EMS treated Mooney and took him to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The police investigation has revealed that an altercation took place in the home between Mooney and another man, who police say knew each other.
A suspect has been interviewed by police. He was released Sunday morning. Police are not looking for any other suspects right now.
The Edmonton Medical Examiner cannot release the cause of death until toxicology results are known.
