MONTREAL – More than 1,300 Montrealers took part in the Salvation Army’s annual Santa Shuffle Saturday.

The family event, which started at 10 a.m. at Mont-Royal park, aims to raise money for Montreal’s most impoverished communities.

“This is a great start to a new season of hope,” said Esteban Bongiovanni, the Salvation Army’s Communications Director in Quebec.

“To continue fighting poverty and improve the quality of life in our community.”

The 5km run and 1 km Elf Walk gives back to the organization’s various community and family services.
