Linda Jeffrey sworn in as Brampton’s new mayor

WATCH: Corruption plagued the last Brampton mayor’s office, but today marked a new day as Linda Jeffrey was sworn in as the city’s new mayor.

TORONTO – New Brampton Mayor Linda Jeffrey was sworn in Monday night with a bit of a hiccup in protocol — but they eventually got it right.

Jeffrey takes over from Susan Fennell whose term in office was marred by a spending scandal.

In her first move as mayor, Jeffrey has asked Ontario’s auditor general to conduct an independent review of the city’s books to restore accountability and transparency to Brampton.
