WATCH: (Nov 28) Police investigating possible homicide of woman in Markham
MARKHAM, Ont. – York Regional Police have released the name of a woman who died after being found badly injured in front of a home north of Toronto.
Aleeya Raza, 28, was found around 6 a.m. Friday lying in front of her Markham home (on Norbury Drive) and police say her death is being investigated as a homicide.
Police say officers who were called to the scene found the woman in critical condition with obvious signs of trauma but the nature of her injuries was not released.
She was transported to hospital where police say she succumbed to her injuries.
Any witnesses who have not yet come forward are being asked to contact investigators with the homicide unit.
