Heavy snowfall across Manitoba

WINNIPEG –15-20 cms of snow is on the way for central Manitoba as a pacific frontal system is making its way across Saskatchewan. The snow is expected to begin later today and diminish Saturday afternoon as the system moves off to the east.

Here in Winnipeg snow is expected through the night until noon Saturday leaving behind 2-4 cms.

The annual snow route parking ban comes into effect Monday Dec. 1st. Parking on snow routes will be prohibited between 2 and 7 am. The annual ban will run until March 1st.

Areas under weather warnings are:

  • Arborg, Hecla, Fisher River, Gypsumville, Ashern
  • Berens River, Little Grand Rapids, Bloodvein, Atikaki
  • Dauphin, Roblin, Winnipegosis
  • Grand Rapids
  • Minnedosa, Neepawa, Russel, Riding Mountain National Park
  • Ste. Rose, McCreary, Alonsa, Gladstone
  • Swan River, Duck Mountain, Porcupine Provincial Forest
