VANCOUVER – A section of Vancouver’s seawall has been closed until further notice.
The section between English Bay and Lumberman’s Arch has flooded and been damaged due to high tide, waves and crashing logs.
The Vancouver Park Board says they began assessing the damage after 3 p.m. on Friday. There is “relatively significant” structural damage to the seawall between 2nd and 3rd beach, which will be repaired tomorrow if the weather allows.
They hope to reopen the seawall at 11 a.m. on Saturday, but that is weather dependent.
One resident says she has never seen the seawall so flooded before.
