Lawsuit launched over crash

A lawsuit has been launched against a Manitoba-based air carrier after a man was killed in the crash of one of the company’s planes.

Glenn Ducharme died in July when an aircraft belonging to Missinippi Airways went off a runway and burst into flames while taking off from the airstrip in Pukatawagan.

In a statement of claim, Ducharme’s son, Michael Chief, alleges the crash was the result of insufficient maintenance by the company and failure by the pilot to fly safely.

A statement of defence has not been filed and none of the allegations has been proven in court.
