WATCH: Monday, November 24, 2014 weather forecast for Toronto, Ontario and the surrounding area.
TORONTO – Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for parts of southern Ontario.
Though the temperatures across the region will be unusually high on Monday, a low-pressure system is moving in, and bringing in a cold front. The front will reach southern Ontario this afternoon into this evening and produce strong winds of 60 to 70 km/h. Possible gusts of 90 to 100 km/h are also expected north of Lake Erie, arriving near Lake Ontario this evening.
Due to the strong winds, there is the possibility of tree damage and power outages.
As well, rainfall amounts of 15 to 30 millimeters locally are expected before it tapers to showers on Monday and there may be some localized flooding in some areas.
Meanwhile, Toronto broke the record high temperature for Nov. 24 set back in 1946.
The mild weather will come to an end late Monday with colder temperatures returning on Tuesday.
