Whitby guitar teacher facing sex assault charges

Toronto – An undercover investigation by police in Durham region has ended with a Whitby guitar teacher facing sex assault and child pornography charges.
Officers launched the investigation in September after they were approached by a woman who said she had been sexually assaulted.
On Thursday, investigators arrested a man at a home on Whitby Shores Greenway, and seized eight computers in the home.
Richard James Nimmo, 50, is now facing charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, luring and possession of child pornography.
Nimmo operated a business giving guitar lessons from his home and also went to students’ homes to teach.
Officers are pouring over the seized hard drives to see if they can identify any other potential victims.
The accused was also using a screen name on Facebook of Maddy Dzelinkow-Holland. Investigators are asking anyone who may have had any contact with this profile name to get in touch with them at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5363 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
