CALGARY – A young man was rushed to hospital on Thursday in one of three incidents involving a CTrain.
The victim was hit near the City Hall station by two CTrains travelling in different directions, around 5 p.m.
Witnesses say the pedestrian appeared distracted as he walked into the path of the oncoming trains.
He was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition, but has since been upgraded to critical but stable condition.
CTrain hits City Hall platform
Calgary Transit officers are still trying to determine what caused a westbound CTrain to derail and slam into the City Hall platform on Thursday.
It happened around 8:30 p.m.

There were no injuries, but it did cause a lot of damage and delays. All CTrain service downtown was suspended for about two hours.
Shuttle buses were brought in to transport thousands of people impacted by the incident.
CTrain hits truck in downtown Calgary
No one was injured when a CTrain struck a truck in downtown Calgary on Thursday.
Police say the train hit the truck as it traveled westbound on 4th Avenue S.W., approaching 9th Street S.W.
The incident caused the closure of westbound 4th Avenue at 8th Street S.W.
Calgary Transit brought in shuttle buses to transport affected passengers who were using the 201 line.
