PENTICTON–Penticton firefighters responded to an apartment fire on Fairview Road shortly after 4:00 pm Thursday afternoon.
The fire was on the fourth floor of the building.
One person was taken to hospital by ambulance before fire crews arrived, but the extent of their injuries is not known.

Crews were able to get the fire under control quite quickly, and contained the blaze to the one unit. Several other units did suffer smoke and water damage. Emergency services are caring for those not allowed back into their suites.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
An investigation will happen tomorrow.
