CALGARY – The Whitehorn LRT station officially reopened Thursday morning after undergoing a major makeover.
While the station platform has remained open, the main building has been closed since June for renovations.

The upgrades will make the northeast station safer, easier to access and will accommodate four car trains.
“We’ve also opened up the station a lot and done a lot of life cycle improvements,” says Peter Enslen. “We’ve also added heated shelters on the platform and we’ve moved the elevators up so they’re a lot more accessible to people rather than being in the back of the station.”
Calgary Transit has also improved safety for people crossing the tracks at Whitehorn. Pedestrians are required to look both ways before they can cross.
