STEPHENVILLE, N.L. – A ground search team and a Cormorant helicopter are scouring woods in western Newfoundland following a possible new clue in the disappearance of a missing American hunter.
The RCMP says the area off the Burgeo Highway is being searched again after hunters reported hearing a voice in the distance.

William Oberkiser of Indiana disappeared more than a week ago after arriving in the province on a hunting trip.
The Mounties say a police dog team will be airlifted into the area as soon as the weather co-operates.
The 65-year-old man’s pickup truck was found abandoned on Bottom Brook Road several days ago.
