TORONTO – York Regional Police have charged a 43-year-old man in connection to a fatal hit-and-run in Richmond Hill over the weekend.
A 70-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a dark-coloured SUV in the area of Yonge Street and King Road on Saturday around 7 p.m.
The vehicle fled the scene after the incident.
Darryl Sylver of Richmond Hill turned himself into police on Sunday and was subsequently charged with fail to remain causing death.
Police also seized his 2009 black Ford Escape which had damage to the front-end.
He is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 18.
Witnesses with information about the case are encouraged to call police.
