A fatal crash on Highway 97C has claimed one life after a truck rolled down an embankment.
It happened around 2:45 p.m. between Brenda Mines and Pennask Summit, closing the eastbound lanes of the highway for several hours.

The woman driving the vehicle was removed from using the jaws of life. She was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital with serious injuries. The male passenger died at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still unknown, but police say there were some icy patches on the road.
