Protesters have hit the streets in downtown as Occupy Edmonton got underway Saturday afternoon.
The demonstrators joined thousands in more than 1,700 cities across the world in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement that began in New York as a protest against corporate greed.

The Occupy Edmonton group began at Churchill Square and marched toward a park on Jasper Avenue this afternoon. They plan on camping out at the park for the night.
