Quebec police investigate St. Eustache pool-hall shooting, stabbing

MONTREAL — Police said things got ugly in a St. Eustache pool hall early Friday morning, when a man was shot and an employee was stabbed.

The incident took place at Le Billard le Patriote just after closing at around 3:45 a.m.

The police did not reveal many details, except to say that the suspects came into the bar, fired a gun and shot a customer in the lower body.

As they fled the scene, an employee, who may have been the bouncer, apparently tried to stop them, and was stabbed.

The man who was shot was transferred to a Montreal hospital.

Neither men were critically injured.

Quebec provincial police have taken over the investigation at the request of the St. Eustache police.

Police have not yet made any arrests.
