CALGARY – Starbucks is offering Canadians a brand new type of Christmas beverage this year.

The Seattle-based coffee company introduced its Chestnut Praline Latte on Monday.

It’s an espresso with steamed milk, combined with flavours of caramelized chestnuts and various spices, and finished with whipped cream and spiced praline crumbs.

It’s the first new holiday drink the company has introduced in five years, and is offered alongside other favourites like the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brule Latte – and (in select provinces/territories) the Eggnog Latte and Gingerbread Latte.

Starbucks isn’t the only business now offering specialty holiday coffees; Second Cup is serving a Candy Cane Hot Chocolate, Candy Cane Latte, Candy Cane Chiller, Eggnog Latte, Gingerbread Latte, Holiday Blend Tea and Holiday London Fog.
