The Ford Motor Co. plant in St. Thomas, Ont., saw its last day in September, putting about 1,200 people out of work.
The 44-year-old plant’s closure has been earmarked since 2009 as part of a major restructuring effort that had Ford putting 28 plants on the chopping block.
Some of the cars that have been produced in St. Thomas include the Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car.
