DEER LAKE, N.L. – The Mounties say the son of the late Johnny Cash was arrested in western Newfoundland after he stripped down to his underwear in an airport.

Two RCMP officers were called yesterday afternoon to the airport in Deer Lake where it was reported that John Carter Cash was either drunk or had medical issues.

Investigators say security personnel at the airport convinced the 44-year-old Cash to put his clothes back on prior to the arrival of two constables.

Cash was taken to a police station where the RCMP said he would remain in custody until sober.

The Mounties say no charges were laid because few people witnessed the events, Cash has no criminal record and he was co-operative with officers.

He missed his flight after a hunting trip in western Newfoundland but police say it’s expected he’ll catch another plane home Tuesday morning.
