Minacs begins taking online applications for 150 jobs at new Fredericton centre

MONCTON, N.B. – A global customer service outsourcing company is preparing to open its third New Brunswick call centre next month to handle North American clients.

Aditya Birla Minacs will hire about 150 people for a new centre in Fredericton, with online recruiting beginning immediately, the company said Friday.

Training begins Nov. 3 and its first client program will go live on Nov. 28.

The company says about one-fifth of the positions are for bilingual employees who speak French and English.

The agents will deal with clients’ customers on a wide variety of call types, providing consumer education, assistance in using products and cross-marketing.

Minacs has 20,000 people working at 36 centres on three continents, including in Canada where Minacs originated, Germany, India and the United States.

It already has a 665-seat centre in Moncton, N.B., that was established in 2000 and another new 75-employee centre recently launched in Bathurst, N.B.

Minacs was founded in 1981 and was acquired in 2006 by Aditya Birla Group of Mumbai, India.
