EMSB parent committee organizes ‘Meet the Candidate’ events

MONTREAL – With the school board election campaign turning into a battle of ethics and accusations, the English Montreal School Board’s parents committee has decided to organize a series of Meet the Candidates events.

Organizers want to give parents a better chance to get information on the issues ahead of the November 2nd vote.

The first Meet the Candidates event took place Thursday night at Laurier Macdonald High School.

Several candidates running in the English Montreal school board race were  given time on the podium to have a chance to share their ideas for the future of the English board with parents.

It was important to do something, according to organizers, because of all the mudslinging between Angela Mancini and Anne Lagace-Dowson, the two candidates vying for the position of Chair of the EMSB.

Two other events are scheduled for Monday, October 27 at John F Kennedy and Tuesday, October 28 at Royal Vale.
