NEAR VERNON – Operating outside of Vernon since 2010, Sparkling Hill Resort sees itself as a destination health spa.
Like other hotels, it hosts weddings and business clients but now it’s putting a greater emphasis on attracting a different kind of visitor, one interested in health and wellness.
“Health was from the very beginning our goal. We have a seven-year plan. We are a little bit more than half [of the way] through [the plan] and we know in another three years most of our clients will see us for health purposes, hopefully thirty to forty per cent of our guests,” says president and CEO Hans-Peter Mayr.
Today Global Okanagan got a look inside the resort and its spa which includes a cold sauna where temperatures drop to around -110 C.
