REGINA – Saskatchewan’s agriculture minister is urging men to get checked for prostate cancer after he was diagnosed with the illness.
Lyle Stewart, who represents Thunder Creek, says he will travel to Ottawa for two weeks of radiation treatment.

He says he was diagnosed in the summer and the cancer is fairly advanced, so his oncologist recommended treatment in Ontario.
Stewart says he is confident in the course of treatment and will be back to work after Remembrance Day.
He says that before being diagnosed he had let his regular checkups slip, prompting him to warn others that they should make it a priority.
