TORONTO – Sixteen candidates ran in an extremely close race to replace Karen Stintz in Toronto’s Ward 16, Eglinton-Lawrence.
Christin Carmichael Greb won with 17.4 per cent of the vote. Runner-up Adam Tanel finished with 16.2 per cent and Dyanoosh Youssefi with 13.8.
The Ward 16 seat was held by Karen Stintz, the former chair of the TTC, who announced in October 2013 that she would run for mayor. Stintz announced in August that she was dropping out of the mayoral race and wouldn’t run again as councillor.
