Winnipeggers gathered together Saturday afternoon to make their city more energy efficient.
An event hosted by Transition Winnipeg gave everyone a chance to review a plan for Winnipeg’s low-carbon, climate resilient future. Feedback was collected about on a document called Winnipeg’s Great Transition that was released in July 2014. It outlines a vision to reduce fossil fuel dependence and improve resilience to climate change in many areas.

People at the event also had a chance to vote on three important points from the document, which will be communicated to mayoral candidates as citizen-chose priorities for action from City Hall.
A revised draft of the document will eventually be published and shown to policy-makers as the city’s vision for the future.
