FREDERICTON – Liberal Ed Doherty has been confirmed as the winner in the riding of Saint John Harbour in last week’s provincial election.
A Court of Queen’s Bench judge confirmed the victory following a recount that began Thursday morning.

It is one of seven recounts that are being conducted in the province.

Questions were raised about the accuracy of the electronic tabulation system after a software glitch delayed the posting of election results by about two hours on election night.
The Progressive Conservatives sought six of the recounts while the People’s Alliance of New Brunswick asked for one.
