Man killed after highway collision with moose in western New Brunswick

HARTLAND, N.B. – A 26-year-old man is dead after his car collided with a moose in western New Brunswick.

Police say the driver was travelling in the eastbound lane of the Trans-Canada Highway when a moose ran into his path just north of the Hartland exit.

RCMP say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision happened at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday on a section of road where there is wildlife fencing.

The unidentified victim was a resident of Moncton.
