Stephen Holyday, son of former councillor Doug Holyday, has won a council seat in Ward 3 Etobicoke Centre.
Holyday won with 36 per cent of the vote in early results. Annette Hutcheon was in second place with 23 per cent.
Holyday’s dad Doug Holyday gave up his council seat to run in a byelection for the Provincial Conservatives last fall. He won that seat but lost it to his former council colleague Peter Milczyn in a provincial election several months later.

In October 2013, city council chose Peter Leon to fill the vacant seat. Leon beat out Chris Stockwell, the former Progressive Conservative MPP favoured by Mayor Rob Ford and his brother Councillor Doug Ford.
Leon, a retired salesman, has lived in the Etobicoke-area for decades. Upon his appointment to city council, the septuagenarian announced he would not run in the 2014 municipal election.
