WATCH: Opening day banner breaks little league football team

TORONTO – The Mighty Mites little league football team from Wallkill, New York met their match during their home opener this week — but it wasn’t the visiting team that did them in, it was their vinyl banner.

As cheerleaders and volunteers lined the field with a banner stretched out, the players ran towards it with the hope of breaking through it just like the pros.

And they failed.

Turns out the banner (which should have paper) was too strong for the 50-something-pounders.

One by one, the kids got tangled up in the sign and formed a small pile-up close to the sideline, all while the young cheerleaders urged them on.
