Watch above: Police issue a Canada-wide warrant for a suspect in the murder of Don Frigo. Marianne Dimain reports.
TORONTO – Ontario Provincial Police have issued a Canada wide arrest warrant for a 70-year-old man in connection to the shooting death of an Etobicoke construction vice-president in Huron County last weekend.
Boris Panovski is wanted for murder and attempted murder of Don Frigo who was fatally shot near a wildlife conservation area around 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 on the outskirts of Clinton in southwestern Ontario.
Police say the 70-year-old business executive at Hady Construction Group was killed while riding a horse with his wife.
The two were involved in a dog training exercise when the victim was shot. Frigo’s wife suffered minor injuries.
Police say Frigo and Panovski knew each other and that there was an altercation prior to the incident.
The suspect then fled the scene and a large-scale manhunt followed with a tactical team sweeping the area Saturday evening.
Investigators say tips from witnesses led them to a home in Scarborough where a search warrant was conducted on Sept. 17.
The evidence found at the scene pinpointed the accused as the shooting suspect.
Panovski is described as white, 5-feet 7-inches tall, 200 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
Police say he may have changed his appearance. The suspect’s vehicle is a blue 1998 Toyota 4-door sedan.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Panovski is urged to contact authorities.
