A customer got more than he bargained for in the restaurant lobby when the 45-year-old suffered the effects of bear spray as the victim in an early morning robbery.

It happened at approximately 3:45 a.m. Sunday morning in a local establishment in the 2200-block of 22nd Street West.

The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money and consumable goods from the 45-year-old victim.

Saskatoon police deployed a canine unit to locate the suspect, but were unsuccessful due to high pedestrian traffic.

The male suspect is described as approximately 14-years-old, being of aboriginal descent, and wearing a red ball cap and black sweater.

He was last seen running towards the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood.

The robbery is still under investigation.
