Cpl. Holly Marks says the man in his late 20s or early 30s remains in hospital in critical condition.
She says witnesses reported seeing several suspects fleeing in a vehicle in the Whalley area at about 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Another shooting, which is believed to be unrelated, left one man wounded at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
Insp. Randall Marquardt says the man was shot in the leg outside an after-hours club. (The Canadian Press, CKNW)
