SASKATOON – Renovations are well underway at Saskatoon’s beloved Kinsmen Park.

With over a century of memories, the downtown park is being rejuvenated with new rides and the addition of PotashCorp Playland.

The new 63-foot Ferris wheel is expected to be fully installed by Wednesday and construction on the new train station building has already begun.

The Canpotex Train is currently being made in Phoenix, Arizona. It will be a one-third scale replica of a Canadian Pacific (CP) train, with enough seating for 110 people.

“It’s the park that anchors the north end of downtown and by rejuvenating this park and make it a fun destination, not just for young families or citizens of Saskatoon, I believe it will attract people from across the province,” says Cary Humphrey, the city’s director of recreation and sport.
