Staff Sgt. Lindsay Hernden said the 81-year-old woman was crossing Williams Lake Road in a marked crosswalk with a crosswalk signal when she was struck.

Hernden said a 71-year-old man had been attempting a right hand turn from Williams Lake Road onto Herring Cove Road.

“There have been no charges laid in this point,” said Staff Sgt. Lindsay Hernden with Halifax Regional Police.

“They have not been ruled out. It’s simply a fact that the investigation itself has not yet been concluded.”
